Three years ago from Saturday, June 16th, something extraordinary happened. Donald Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower and officially threw his hat in the presidential ring.
Where were YOU when that happened? I was watching it live on Fox News from my living room. I don’t even remember how I processed it. I don’t think I was shocked. I was intrigued. Trump wasn’t my first choice, but he was always in my top five. I loved how he took out the establishment deadbeats like Jeb! Bush. We needed someone who wasn’t afraid to keep it real.
He grew on me.
The Republican Party needed Trump, even though it didn’t realize it.
Do you guys remember the reaction MSM had after Trump’s announcement? They were practically peeing themselves.
This montage makes me so giddy. I can’t help it.
“Carnival show.” “Rambling mess of a speech.” “I was howling.” “PR from a celebrity.” “Pure vanity exercise.” “Hilarity run amok.” “Political streaker.” “He can’t win.” “Of course he’s not going to win.”
Now he’s POTUS.
Liberals were so smug, but who’s laughing now? It’s not just about our “guy” winning. It’s about America. America is winning again.
I wanted Trump to beat Hillary, because I knew that’s what was best for my country. Period.
I think it’s fair to say we were all a bit blindsided and skeptical at first, but the difference is, Republicans gave him a chance, and he’s proven himself. Liberals just want to #resist, even if it hurts our country.
The big takeaway from all of this? Don’t underestimate the American people or Donald Trump.
