Alyssa Milano thinks she’s “winning” against the NRA, but she’s sorely mistaken.
It all started with this.
Today, New Jersey passed sweeping gun safety legislation, including measures to expand background checks, reduce magazine capacity, and keep firearms out of the wrong hands.
On Wednesday, I’ll sign these bills into law, establishing some of the toughest gun laws in the nation.
— Governor Phil Murphy (@GovMurphy) June 7, 2018
How wonderfully vague and ineffective! I’m especially talking about the whole “reducing gun magazine capacity’ thing. That really doesn’t make a darn difference. If you practice, you can reload quickly.
Just saying.
Back to Milano. She’s convinced the New Jersey governor’s announcement proves they’re “winning.”
We are winning, @NRA. #NoRA https://t.co/pWxoYuBSCM

Except no, because 1.) You had nothing to do with that and 2.) New Jersey is a liberal la-la land, and I wouldn’t expect anything less from a place like that.
But really. She’s convinced.
Hello, @DLoesch. Since the Parkland shooting, common sense gun reform measures have been adopted at the local, state and federal level, while the private sector has made guns less available. And we are not done yet. (Thread) #NoRA https://t.co/U9STtmEGmc

She’s acting like NRA members WANT more violence. She’s basically saying, “Na-na na-na boo-boo, kids are going to be safer now you bloodthirsty monsters!”
We want kids to be safe too. That’s exactly why we OPPOSE her ridiculous proposals. We KNOW they wouldn’t keep kids safe. Gun free zones won’t keep kids safe. Banning “scary” looking guns won’t keep kids safe.
We oppose Alyssa’s ideas because they violate our Second Amendment rights, and they wouldn’t work anyway. Big government has been failing, and that’s their answer. More government. Check out Alyssa’s thread. Her big “victory” involves the government spending more money to “study” the causes of gun violence.
Federal: spending bill that went into law will make it easier for the Centers for Disease Control to investigate the causes of gun violence. #NoRA
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) June 9, 2018
Wow I feel safer already!
Federal: spending bill also includes bipartisan provision that offers more money to states that comprehensively upload information to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. #NoRA

Federal: spending bill also includes more money for school for metal detectors and 1 billion over ten years for safety measures. #NoRA
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) June 9, 2018
We’ve BEEN supporting that idea, moron.
FLORIDA: Florida banned bump stocks and raised the minimum age at which a person can purchase firearms from 18 to 21. #NoRA
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) June 9, 2018
Won’t make a difference. Bump stocks weren’t even used in any of the tragic Florida shootings, and you’ll find that most “gun people” couldn’t care less about those anyway.
Gainesville, Palm Beach Countyand Leon County, Florida Reaffirmed No Armed Teachers. #NoRA
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) June 9, 2018
I fail to see how that’s a victory for anyone.
CONNECTICUT: Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed a bill in May that bans bump stocks as well as other firearm enhancements. #NoRA

DEERFIELD ILLINOIS, passed an ordinance that not only bans assault weapons, but will penalize residents who don’t forfeit or secure weapons that fall under the ban by June 13. #NoRA
— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) June 9, 2018
Wow. Gun confiscation. Yippee!
Plug in another Constitutional right there. Would we actively celebrate our First Amendment rights being taken away? “You can now face a fine for using the wrong gender pronoun. YAY!” Or how about, “Yay! The government can now come into your home and search your a$$ for absolutely no rhyme or reason! VICTORY!”
See how absurd that is? That’s how I feel every time Alyssa Milano claims “victory.”
There’s more where that came from. It’s a bunch of nothing. You can read the full thread here if you really want to, but that’s the gist.
Here’s what Alyssa Milano doesn’t seem to get. The NRA = law abiding Americans who champion the Second Amendment. So when she’s celebrating a “victory” against them, she’s actually celebrating lawmakers stampeding on our Constitutional rights.
I wrote about the REALITY of our right to keep and bear arms at length here. My entire rant was actually inspired by the Second Amendment hater herself. Remember this tweet?

Alyssa’s right about one thing: Some things change, and it’s a good thing. But if you’re going to lump the Second Amendment in with slavery and smallpox, you need help. It’s completely idiotic to crap on an essential founding principle of freedom– a founding principle of freedom that helped shape this country into the greatest country in the history of the world. It’s in the very fabric of our being. It makes us special, and it works.
Stuff it, you flaming I-have-armed-security hypocrite. More bureaucracy isn’t the answer.
