As you know, Kim Kardashian recently met with President Trump at the White House to talk prison reform. She pleaded on behalf of Alice Johnson, a 62-year-old grandmother who was serving a life-sentence without parole for a first-time drug offense. Trump ultimately granted her clemency, and she vowed to make Trump proud.
Alice Johnson's message to @realDonaldTrump after being released from prison 21 years later: “I would tell President Trump, ‘Thank you so much. That I am going to be that one that is going to make you so proud.’ And I hope that my life encourages him to do this for others too.” pic.twitter.com/Jg9xsutqbu

Trust me. I get it. Kim K is annoying, but this is probably the LEAST offensive thing she’s ever done. She put herself out there for someone else and didn’t show off her butt in the White House. She covered up and talked about her objective.
However, after the good news about Johnson surfaced and the meeting proved to be successful, people started calling Kim a “pawn” for Trump.
Even *I* think that’s positively absurd.
Kardashian shot down criticism in an interview on CNN. Kardashian campaigned on the behalf of Alice Marie Johnson.
“I think Kanye’s already given him legitimacy in that way,” Kardashian said referring to the comments her husband and Trump have made about each other. “I was working on this before. I don’t think I would be used. At the end of the day, he heard me out. We got the job done. What could he really use me for?”
I totally agree with her here. He listened to her, and they got the job done. End of story.
She said she “knew there was going to be tons of backlash” for meeting with Trump, but she figured fighting for Johnson’s freedom was more important.
“I knew people wouldn’t understand it. And at that point, I had to make the decision that this was bigger than me,” she said.
Good for her for not thinking of ONLY herself for once.
There are TONS of reasons to rip Kim K. This is not one of them.
