Wait… this is some kind of twisted joke, right?

Uhhhhhhhhhhh.
I’m confused.
Woody Allen says he should be the “poster boy” for the #MeToo movement given that he hasn’t been accused of sexual misconduct by any of the actresses with whom he’s worked over the years.
“I’m a big advocate of the #MeToo movement,” Allen said in an interview with Argentinian news program Periodismo Para Todos released Monday. “I feel when they find people who harass innocent women and men, it’s a good thing that they’re exposing them. But you know I, I should be the poster boy for the #MeToo movement. Because I have worked in movies for 50 years. I’ve worked with hundreds of actresses and not a single one — big ones, famous ones, ones starting out — have ever ever suggested any kind of impropriety at all. I’ve always had a wonderful record with them.”
In the interview, the Oscar-winning filmmaker said that it “bothers” him that he gets “linked” to disgraced Hollywood figures like Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens and dozens of women.
Um.
Only he HAS been accused of sexual misconduct…both by actresses and his own adopted/ stepchildren. Whether or not you BELIEVE the allegations is a different story.
But the accusations are DEFINITELY there… and this is creepily tone deaf.
Yah adults in the business haven’t complained about him because adults aren’t his targeted victims

YIIIIKES.
You don’t get a gold star for not being a sexual harasser that’s called just being a decent human and even if you did he won’t make the cut so …

What, as an example of the need for #metoo?

YEEEEAH.
Here’s the thing. I don’t KNOW what Woody Allen did.
But I DO know that he’s a skeeve. There’s no denying that. The man married his ex-wife’s adopted daughter. A daughter he helped raise.
Here’s Woody and his wives:

It must never be forgotten that Woody Allen married his stepdaughter, which is WRONG! He was entrusted with her care and support, but abused that emotional power and access! pic.twitter.com/SUG32gGsiw

Married his step daughter and then he adopted clones of Dylan and Soon Yi. Living his sickness out loud and in front of our eyes. #TimesUp #WOODYALLEN pic.twitter.com/n1naL33qaB

So MAYBE some of the allegations against him aren’t entirely accurate.
But THIS is clear as day…
And it’s all kinds of messed up.
