As I’ve mentioned a few times, I moved to Northern Arizona earlier this year. (Shout out to any Mohave County readers! Woo!)
This week, Hannah Bleau, my best friend and chicklet writer counterpart, flew out from Florida to visit me, and get a taste of the Wild West for the very first time.
I live in Kingman, AZ, a Route 66 town with a small but revitalized downtown. We’ve shopped the vintage shops and stuffed our face with greasy foods. So yesterday we decided to try something different.
We woke up at the a$$-crack of dawn to drive to Sedona for the day.
There, we found the best “work from home” set up known to man:

YES – we DID get Starbucks. We also sat at this table and used their Wifi for FIVE HOURS while drinking free unlimited refills (which I made sure to take FULL advantage of) with THIS view. If you ask me… we came out on top.
We then took a walk around the main shopping strip. I’m not a shopper – I can’t bring myself to spend money. I find equal joy in just looking. Hannah, on the other hand, is a SHOPPING QUEEN.
I think the total came out to 3 cactus terrariums (those little blue boxes), an awesome western hat, 2 sasquatch magnets, a couple of Sedona shirts, some hand-carved candles, a cactus chapstick, and a turquoise necklace.
(To be fair, I did end up with a tank top, and we bought matching necklaces. Living large – I know.)

A western BONANZA, if you ask me.
We took some selfies, because of course we did:

Then we grabbed a quick lunch at a beautiful little coffee shop with a MAJESTIC view:

You REALLY can’t beat that.
(I’m avocado and balsamic, Hannah is pb and banana – she likes the simple joys in life.)
With full tummies and full hearts, we made our 3 hour way back to my Kingman home.
Hannah shared “Sons of the San Joaquin” with me… it was a perfect soundtrack to a breath-taking drive.
Yes, this IS what we listen to on road trips. You know you’re jealous you weren’t there.
Nothing beats a road trip with your best friend to talk about God, friendship, family, dreams for the future and your love for folksy Western music.
Just one of MANY adventures we hope to have together. Looking forward to a lifetime of them – because sometimes God brings you a friend for a season – but we’re pretty darned certain that this friendship is for life.
