Bill Clinton Doesn’t Think His Affair With Monica Warranted Resignation.

According to a CBS interview that will air this weekend, Bill Clinton doesn’t agree with comments made by Kirsten Gillibrand that he should have resigned after having all kinds of sex with Monica Lewinsky in the White House.

Billy’s got a book coming out, co-written with James Patterson, and it’s a thriller about what would happen if there were a traitor in the White House. And in the same interview he was participating in to plug that book, he faced questions by Mo Rocca about the impeachment proceedings he underwent back in the day.

“Well, I knew it wouldn’t succeed,” Clinton said of the impeachment. “It wasn’t a pleasant experience. But it was a fight that I was glad to undertake after the elections, when the people had solidly told, by two-thirds or more, the Republicans to stop it. They knew there was nothing impeachable. And so, we fought it to the end. And I’m glad.”

Ok cool. So we’ve established that perjury and sexual predation of an employee are not impeachable offenses. Good to know.

Apparently, in light of the #metoo movement, Kirsten Gillibrand suggested Clinton should have resigned after the Lewinsky affair, and Bill’s response was this unintelligible nonsense.

“You have to– really ignore what the context was,” Clinton says. “But, you know, she’s living in a different context. And she did it for different reasons. So, I – but I just disagree with her.”

Maybe that’ll make more sense when we actually see the interview? Because yeah. I have no idea what he’s trying to say.

Anyway, he’s obviously REALLY TORN UP about his past indiscretions (/end sarc), and doesn’t really think he did anything impeachment-worthy.
