Stop the presses. We have BREAKING NEWS! Shailene Woodley is coming out…as a FEMINIST! HEAR HER ROAR.
“You know, feminism has had so many forms over its many, many decades of being around. To me, I say today that I resonate as a feminist,” she declared to Vulture. “But take that word out of it — a word is a word, a movement is a movement — practice and action are what actually makes a difference.
“So I can call myself a feminist all day long. Or I can say I’m not a feminist all day long,” she continued. “But if my daily interaction with the world is taking steps to uplift, empower — not only women, but also men in their relationships with women, and women and their relationships with men, and women to women, and improving sisterhood with women, and changing our judicial system to reflect that which society is asking for — that, to me, is where my greatest interest lies.”
I’m very confused by this news, because I thought we already knew she was a lib “feminist.” She’s been feministing for basically forever. But apparently it’s BREAKING, because she openly rejected the label a few years ago. Back in 2014, she was all, “No, because I love men, and I think the idea of ‘raise women to power, take the men away from the power’ is never going to work out because you need balance…And also I think that if men went down and women rose to power, that wouldn’t work either. We have to have a fine balance.”
But you see, that was BEFORE Trump was POTUS. Now everything is different. Women are more oppressed, so it’s extremely important to openly voice support for females everywhere.
I hate to be like this (no I don’t) but you can always tell if someone is turning into a feminist by their haircut. Usually when a female dyes her hair a super dark color (or an unnatural color like blue), gets a buzzcut or cuts her bangs too short on purpose, you know they’re making the transition.
Look at Woodley now and tell me you didn’t see this coming.

I’m not mocking her ‘do. I’m just saying it was coming. And for the record, I realize I have super dark brown plum hair (or at least, I try to maintain that), and I used to have straight up purple in my hair. But if you ever see my bangs too short, it’s just a bad haircut. I promise. I’m not turning into a feminist. 😉
