This is absolutely horrific.
Not only did the government miss like, 1,000 signs. There’s this too.
According to the latest, the Parkland shooter announced his plans on a cellphone video prior to the horrific massacre.
“Hello. My name is Nik and I’m going to be the next school shooter of 2018,” he said in the video. “My goal is at least 20 people with an AR-15. … Location is Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida.”
“It’s going to be a big event,” he continued. “And when you see me on the news, you’ll know who I am.”
And then the freaking psycho LAUGHED.
“You’re all going to die,” he added, while making gunshot noises. “Can’t wait.”
BLOOD BOILING.
The recordings were released Wednesday by the Broward State Attorney’s Office in response to a defense request for discovery, which is when the state turns over all the potential evidence against a defendant. In Florida, many elements of discovery are considered a public record.
Authorities did not say when exactly the videos were made, although Cruz suggests in one that he would carry out the attack later the same day. His cellphone was confiscated as evidence after the attack.
He even listed specifics.
“Here’s the plan. I’m going to take an Uber in the afternoon before 2:40 p.m.,” he said in one video clip, the camera facing the ground, Cruz apparently sitting on a bench with a bicycle nearby.
“From there, I’ll go into the school campus, walk up the stairs, load my bags and get my AR and shoot people down at … the main courtyard and people will die.”
Disgusting.
“Today is the day, the day it all begins. The day of my massacre shall begin,” Cruz said. “All the kids in the school will run in fear and hide. From the wrath of my power they will know who I am.”
In the clip, Cruz casts himself as a victim, saying he lives in “seclusion and solitude” and that his life was “nothing and meaningless.”
He also seems to profess his devotion to a girl — and suggests he didn’t intend to survive.
“My love for you…will never go away,” Cruz says. “I hope to see you in the afterlife.”
Awful.
Gordon Weekes, Cruz’s lawyer from the Broward Public Defender’s Office, declined to comment Wednesday.
The question of guilt has never been at issue: His lawyers have admitted Cruz was the shooter and insist he had a troubled life and should be spared execution. If the case goes to trial, the videos would certainly show Cruz was not insane and knew right from wrong, said Penny Brill, the former head of the legal bureau at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
“It shows premeditation,” Brill said. “It wasn’t a spur of the moment decision to shoot.”
Experts who study the minds of mass shooters say they often make such videos.
Add this to the ongoing list of reasons it’s completely RIDICULOUS to blame these tragedies on inanimate objects. This happened because a SICK POS planned the attack and carried it out. It was an EVIL person with EVIL intentions.
The videos are out there, and you can find them if you really want to. I just don’t want to post them here.
