Morgan Freeman has been accused of sexual harassment by eight different women he’s worked with in the past. We’re talking crude comments and unwanted touching. One of his accusers, a young production assistant, said Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.”
That goes beyond being a “dirty old man.”
Freeman responded to the accusations by apologizing for making people feel “uncomfortable.”
“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy,” Freeman said. “I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent.”
He didn’t deny doing it or apologize for doing it. He apologized for making people feel uncomfortable. Big difference.
I don’t think he did himself any favors.
It gets worse for Freeman. Entertainment Tonight dug up some old interviews, and it makes Freeman’s accusers sound even more credible. Check out what a weirdo he was during these interviews.
In 2016, while promoting his film, London Has Fallen, Freeman sat down for an interview with ET correspondent Ashley Crossan, during which he asked, on camera, if she was married and if she “fooled around with older guys.”
Toward the end of the interview, she was all, “Pleasure to meet you” and Freeman was all, “Mine? Look at yourself.”
Ooooooooooookay. It’d be a lot less creepy if he didn’t ask her if she fooled around with older guys beforehand.
Wait. There’s more.
In 2015, author and activist Janet Mock served as an ET special correspondent covering Freeman’s film, Five Flights Up. During their junket interview, Freeman addressed Mock’s appearance, saying, “I don’t know how you all manage to do that all the time.”
“You got a dress halfway between your knee and your hips, and you sit down right across from me and you cross your legs,” he continued.
EWWWWWWWW.
I wonder what Hillary Clinton has to say about all of this. After all, he was an ardent supporter, and she believes allllllll women should be believed, right?
