This middle school is only miles a few miles away from where my mother teaches.
As we have many Indiana readers, some of you may even have children who attend this school.
I feel like I’m going to be sick.
A teenage girl and an adult have been shot at an Indiana middle school by a suspect who is now in custody.
The shooting unfolded at Noblesville West Middle School on Friday morning.
No details about the shooter have emerged but they are in police custody. The two victims are in critical condition and are being treated at a local hospital.
As shots rang out in the school, terrified students hid in closets and sent petrified emails to their parents telling them that they loved them.
Once the suspect was brought into custody, the children were evacuated onto school buses to be taken to the Noblesville West High School where they will be reunited with parents.
Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. John Perrine said: ‘There are two victims en route to Methodist from the Noblesville West Middle School Active Shooter.
‘Those families have been notified Suspect in custody.
‘All students are being taken to the Noblesville High School, parents are asked to pick up there,’ he tweeted.
One student hit in a closet while the shooter was inside. In an email to their parents which was obtained by Fox 59, said: ‘There was a shooter in the building, luckily we were in one of the safest closets in the school, I hope that everyone is alright, I’m still shaking, girls are crying, the officers are here and holding the shooter in custody, this has to be a dream, I don’t have my phone, but pick me up in the high school.
‘I love you guys.’
The school underwent training for an active shooter scenario at the end of March.
Praying so hard for all of our Indiana friends and family right now.
