Proof That Protesting NFL Players Don’t Give A Crap About Anything But Attention

According to this, there are some NFL players who are still complete dickwads and want to ruin the sport even more than they already have.

So, by now you all know about the NFL’s new policy about the national anthem. If you’re a player, and you’re out on the field, you need to stand for the anthem and not act like a toddler, else your team (and possibly you by extension) will be fined. If you can’t bear to act like a grown-up on the field while the anthem is playing, then stay in the locker room, and throw yourself as big of a tantrum as you want. The end.

I think it’s a perfectly reasonable compromise. The NFL isn’t the government, which means they are not preventing anyone from exercising their First Amendment rights. They are setting rules for their organization, which is perfectly within their right to do. Players don’t have a right to cause disruptions at work.

But now? Apparently a bunch of players are plotting different ways they can protest other than taking a knee during the anthem.

“I talked to a former NFL player yesterday who has said that players are already talking about other ways in which they can protest,” NBC’s Craig Melvin said on “Today” on Thursday.

Melvin did not specify which players he spoke to, or what other forms of protesting they were considering.

Other journalists, including NFL Media reporter Jim Trotter, said they are also hearing of some players considering other forms of protest, including staying in their locker room for the national anthem.

Awesome. Stay in the locker room. That’s precisely what the new policy dictates you should do, so fine. Do it. And the audience will know who’s sitting out, and if they’re America-hating leftists, they’ll buy your merch and support you, and if they’re normal, common sense, America-loving patriots, they’ll support the players standing during the anthem, doing the right thing. I see that as a win win.

Oh, that’s brilliant.  Players who were rightfully staying above the fray last year are now going to hop on the toddler bandwagon.  What a bunch of clowns.

What I’m hearing from players: Those who weren’t planning demonstrations for next season are now back in the conversation, discussing ways to skirt to new rules “just to spite the NFL.”
