Sen. Marco Rubio Dishes On Colin Kaepernick

I know this is probably unpopular to say, but I miss football season. I love it so hard. I know the NFL has ticked us all off and will probably continue to do so in some capacity, but I love the sport. I love lazy baking Sundays with chip dip and hearing ref whistles in the background. (I’m so desperate for sports right now, I’ve been watching hockey and have decided that I’m really into it. In case you’re wondering, I’m rooting for the Tampa Bay Lightning even though they knocked my Bruins out. Why? Because then at least I can say, “Yeah, well at least we were knocked out by the Stanley Cup champs.”)

ANYWAY. Sorry. Football. I miss it. I don’t miss the kneeling and whining from losers like Colin Kaepernick, but I’m hoping we won’t really see much of that this coming season.

All that being said, some reporter for TMZ caught Sen. Marco Rubio at DCA (I think it’s DCA?) and asked him about football and Colin Kaepernick’s future.

“Look, I support his right to stand for what he does. I don’t agree with what he did but I support his right to do it,” Rubio said.

“But if we’re just talking football,” he continued, “there aren’t 63 better quarterbacks in the world.”

I think that’s up for debate. He SUCKED last time he played. Blame it on whatever else you want, but that’s a fact.

If a team wants him, they should take him. I don’t care. They can take that up with their fans. Everyone needs to realize that Kaepernick is a controversial political figure, and he did that to himself. I don’t blame teams for not wanting him for that reason alone.

It’s not a race thing. Period.
