A Parkland History Teacher Compared Kyle Kashuv To HITLER In Class

According to a high school junior student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, history teacher Greg Pittman launched into a broadside directed at pro-Second Amendment student Kyle Kashuv in seventh period class; Pittman has attacked Kashuv repeatedly on social media as well. Kashuv tweeted:

So… I just got a call from a friend of mine from @GregPittman1957‘s class and he apparently compared me to Hitler in class and said I am a piece of crap. The rant was about 10-minutes during class time and how he was right and I was wrong with my comments…

Wow.

I mean… this is actually heartbreaking.

First off, I’m heartbroken for Kyle. He seems like an incredibly mature kid, so I’m sure he doesn’t want my “sympathy” but… holy CRAP you guys. This is awful. A TEACHER is saying this about his STUDENTS. AT SCHOOL. IN CLASS.

I don’t care HOW mature someone is… that can’t feel good.

What a horrible, horrible thing to do and say. I can’t fathom what this man is thinking. He’s supposed to be the ADULT in this situation.

Kyle has proven he is WORLDS more “mature” than this unhinged a-hole.

How is this person still in charge of teaching minors? He should be in a mental hospital, not a CLASSROOM.

Secondly… I’m heartbroken that we now live in a society where this is considered acceptable.

And YES. I DID have an issue with people calling David Hogg “Hitler.” It wasn’t right then, and it’s not right now. David Hogg is a misguided individual who has been used by many far more powerful than he is to promote an agenda. That HARDLY makes him “Hitler.”

And so yes. That was wrong.

But from a teacher at his SCHOOL? I mean… that just takes the cake.

According to the high school junior, who sought to remain unnamed for fear of reprisal, Pittman stated that posting photos from a gun range would get you into trouble, and then went on to “compare Kyle to Hitler in terms of what he believes.”

This is insanity. Teachers attacking students in the classroom for their mainstream political beliefs is obviously beyond the pale. It remains to be seen whether the high school administration will call Pittman on the carpet in the same way school security called Kashuv on the carpet for outside-of-school activities.

Not that it actually matters… but Hitler disarmed citizens.

Kyle wants to do the opposite.
