Rand Paul was holding out on supporting Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
It appears he has made his mind up:
JUST IN: Senator Rand Paul will support Mike Pompeo for Secretary of State after receiving reassurance from President Trump

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) flipped from ‘no’ to ‘yes’ on Mike Pompeo’s nomination to be secretary of state Monday, paving an unexpectedly easy path for the CIA director to win confirmation from the full Senate as soon as this week.
Paul’s surprising turnabout on Pompeo came after multiple conversations with President Donald Trump, the Kentucky Republican said, as well as getting what he described as “assurances” that the hawkish nominee sees the war in Iraq as “a mistake” and wants to wind down the U.S. presence in Afghanistan.
President Trump believes that Iraq was a mistake, that regime change has destabilized the region, and that we must end our involvement with Afghanistan,” Paul said in a statement. “Having received assurances from President Trump and Director Pompeo that he agrees with the president on these important issues, I have decided to support his nomination to be our next Secretary of State.”
Thank GOD, honestly.
Paul’s change of position on Pompeo, whom he had indicated he would oppose as recently as last Thursday, came minutes before the nominee’s scheduled vote in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. With Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) also expected to support Pompeo, the CIA director has now locked in enough support to win approval from the narrowly divided committee along party lines.
Pompeo, formerly a House Republican, is expected to win confirmation from the full Senate later this week. After Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota became the first Democrat to announce her support on Thursday, Sens. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) followed suit on Monday.
Every Democrat on the Foreign Relations panel already has come out in public opposition to Pompeo.
Of course they have.
Because they’ve chosen to sabotage our country out of spite for Trump.
It’s THAT simple.
