I’m Pretty Sure The New York Post Just Fell For A Chupacabra Story

I grew up in Mexico. I’ve mentioned that about a million and a half times, right?

Anyway… the Chicks and I were chatting today, and this story came up…

It’s from the New York Post.

The other chicks were kind of freaked out. A big hairless creature killed two dogs? That’s creepy.

Me? I just had to laugh. Why? Because I GREW UP on “Chupacabra” stories…and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve heard a good one. (I mean… I still feel bad for the dogs, of course.)

This is a QUINTESSENTIAL Chupacabra story. And my Mexican heart LIVES for the DRAMA!

According to the above sourcelink:

A mysterious “half human, half animal” creature has been caught on camera after it was said to have savaged two dogs.

The beast is reported to have been spotted prowling through the streets of Santa Fe, Argentina.

The photo was taken after it was said to have butchered a German shepherd and a pit bull.

Some locals likened the creature to a camel because of its long neck and small head.

It was uploaded to the YouTube channel UFOmania, and has now been viewed more than 30,000 times.

One person commented: “I saw one of these things in 2005, it was crossing a bridge and we came upon it.

“It blew my mind because it looked at us and turned and began moving just like a kangaroo would and cleared the concrete bridge wall easily and dropped at least 15 to 20 feet.”

Another added: “Here in the Philippines it is called ASWANG — a man transforms into a monster dog.”

“It is a demon, it can even shift into a cat or a big bird.”

Yup. Sounds about right.

But one user insists it is a Chupacabra, a vampire-like creature with strong roots in Latin folklore.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Seriously guys. Chupacabra is like the Mexican boogeyman. (Actually, we have a lot of them. We’re really into monster stories.)

Every so often there’s a dead cow or a dead dog and a sighting of a really gross-looking hairless creature.

99.99999% of the time it ends up being a rabid feral dog with mange. (Mange makes their hair fall out.)  Kinda sad for the poor dog.

Anyway. There you have it. This Mexican is totally rolling her eyes at the New York Post.
