I’m so torn about this whole clip.
Rapper Cardi B was on a radio show where she was asked about her pregnancy.
Cardi admits that her pregnancy was entirely unplanned, and that she “kinda sorta” considered having an abortion, but then realized she was totally prepared for motherhood.
Cardi B briefly considered getting an abortion, but only “kinda, sorta” … and ultimately decided this was the right time to tackle motherhood, regardless of her exploding rap career.
That’s how Cardi broke down what was going through her head when she and Offset got pregnant. She was on Power 105.1’s ‘Breakfast Club’ Tuesday morning when Charlamagne tha God asked her point-blank if abortion was discussed.
As we’ve told you … this is a huge year for her professionally, with the release of her first studio album, Coachella, and a full tour later this year with Bruno Mars.
Cardi’s decided she can handle all of it PLUS having her first baby … because she’s a grown woman who’s absolutely “prepared for this.”
I’m sorry… but when did it become normal to ask a woman if she considered killing her baby?
Is it THAT normalized at this point? (Yes. Unfortunately having an abortion is just considered another “option” in our society.)
So why does this matter? Because SOMEHOW Cardi B has become immensely popular. Kids look up to her. Yes, really.
So her publicly saying she chose not to have an abortion is positive… despite how negative it is that abortion is just considered an obvious choice here.
WOOF.
