Remember Lindsay Shepherd? She’s Saying Goodbye To The Left, Y’all. WOW.

If you don’t know Lindsay’s story, you need to catch up right here. Her story is the whole reason I discovered Dr. Jordan Peterson.

In any case, she’s disavowing Leftism, because she’s finally seeing what the Left is all about – censorship of ideas, and control of thought. Take a listen.

I know someone personally who has gone through a similar self-discovery. He moved to WA state a couple years ago, and several weeks ago, we had a FB conversation about his “transformation.” Here are a few key excerpts (his name starts with D):

D: You remember i wasn’t so much a conservative back in the day. but being out here and the way the liberals have gone bonkers in the last few years has made a conservative libertarian out of virtually everyone lol.

Me: OMG YOU HAVE CROSSED OVER TO THE DARK SIDE this makes me deliriously happy

D: i think its more that the liberals have moved so far that dark side crossed over me, like an eclipse moving across the landscape. the other day i was hanging out with two hairy liberal young chicks and they said though they felt warmly and supportive towards their friends, even THEY were getting sick of the idiotic gender politics. they were over it. i’m thinking when your liberal allies are getting tired of you, you’re close to burning out your movement lol

Me: Wow! That’s encouraging, actually. Because I’m legit scared of what’s happening on college campuses.

D: omg yes. evergreen college is in my state after all

Me: the safe spaces and the perpetual outrage over really stupid stuff – it’s just mind boggling

D: its insanity. codified, professed insanity. i saw someone call someone a white supremacist because he wore a t-shirt that said “kekistan”. there was a time when liberals stood for freedom. that’s so far from today it’s hard to even say those words

Me: I feel bad for normal liberals like you. Because you’re becoming rare

D: no, actually i’m becoming more common. the extreme left is calling everyone who isn’t an extreme leftist a racist, xenophobe, misognyst, blah blah blah. they’ve attacked liberal bill maher, alan dershowitz, the liberal evergreen professor, etc. but like i said, its so extreme that they’re alienating their own allies. its unsustainable, and i love that the democrats seem completely clueless. they have NO idea what to do about their colossal losses. social media is allied to the left so i’m starting to look at alternatives that still value freedom of speech. so my point being, the movement is unsustainable when they’ve long since alienated half the country, and theyre alienating their own allies too. I used to consider myself a liberal when liberal mean personal freedom. Now it means fierce allegiance to authoritarian ideology. No thanks. I do what I want.

I hope he’s right, and that his attitude is becoming more common. We need more “Ds” and Lindsay Shepherds to start realizing how toxic the Left is.
