Jay-Z appeared on an episode of David Letterman’s Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” and said that President Trump is a “great thing.”
Oh wait. There’s more. He’s a “great thing” because he’s “bringing out an ugly side of America that we wanted to believe was gone.”
Ohhhhhh. Yeah. Should’ve known.
“I’ll be honest with you,” Letterman said. “I’m beginning to lose confidence in the Trump administration.”
“I think it’s actually a great thing,” Jay-Z said. “I think that what he’s forcing people to do is have conversations and [forcing] people to band together and work together.”
“You can’t really address something that’s not revealed. He’s bringing out an ugly side of America that we wanted to believe was gone, and it’s still here. We still gotta deal with it,” he added.
What’s the “ugly side,” exactly? Lower taxes? A wall protecting our border? Do tell. If I wanted a better glimpse of the “ugly side” of America, I’d listen to your raunchy music.
“We have to talk about the N-word and we have to talk about why white men are so privileged in this country,” Jay-Z said.
Wait wait wait. Trump’s existence is requiring us to have a conversation about white male privilege? Is this not coming from a man who has a net worth of around $810 million? Combined with his wife Beyoncé, they have a net worth of over $1 billion. PLEASE. They’re not suffering from the hands of ANYONE.
“Is he a racist? Is he not a racist?” Letterman said of President Trump. “I’m telling you, If you’re having a debate over whether a guy is a racist, chances are that guy’s a racist.”
Letterman last took swipes at President Trump while interviewing Pakistan-born activist Malala Yousafzai.
“I feel personally, not politically, but personally, he is not fit to represent me. I don’t think he’s fit to represent anyone in this room,” Letterman said of Trump.
When in doubt, call everyone who disagrees with you a racist. It’s the liberal way. Can’t say I’m surprised by this entire conversation.
Anyway, Jay-Z, the black rapper who’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars, would like to talk about the reality of white male privilege and the “ugly” side of America. You know. Right after he finishes rapping about money cash hoes and whatnot.
