I don’t know why anyone would ever want to be a politician. I’m not saying they’re ALL bad. It is possible to be a principled politician, but– and I truly believe this– the lack of term limits on members of Congress really feeds the monster. Lawmakers get cozy. Everything revolves around winning their next election. We don’t really have people go into it anymore with the “I’m gonna do what I need to do for a few years then jump back to the private sector– attitude. We create power hungry leeches who NEVER FREAKING LEAVE.
Fine. It’s a different rant for a different day.
Here’s another reason I think it would suck to be a conservative politician: You have to deal with low-fos every single day. Sometimes, they confront you and ask the dumbest questions, and you have to sit there and take it.
Case in point. Check this out. Some misinformed lib decided to list off all the reasons she’s a victim and ultimately asked Cruz if he’d be willing to submit to a DNA test to prove that he’s human. You know. Because he has no heart. It’s clear she wasn’t interested in having a constructive, civil discussion.
Cruz was irritated but MORE THAN polite. He simply said he wouldn’t engage in pointless name-calling. Now me? I’d be tempted. I’d want to say, “Sure, on one condition. You will ALSO undergo a DNA test to see if you’re an Actual Seahag.”
Something tells me that wouldn’t go over too well.
