HOLY MOTHER OF BATSH*T.
Activists took over a room in New York City’s swanky Trump International Hotel as part of unauthorized protest involving an impersonator of the president and boxes of live rats.
‘When they are hungry enough, rats will eat anything, even their rat king,’ the anonymous group, called INDECLINE, said in a statement.
The art installation, ‘The People’s Prison’ was secretly set up in a suite inside the president’s flagship hotel near Central Park on Thursday.
This is art now. Got it.
When asked why they decided to use rats for the project, the group told DailyMail.com: ‘President Trump is the ultimate rat and thus, deserves to be imprisoned with his own breed.’
After checking into the hotel, the group quickly began dismantling the suite, removing paintings and furniture and placing it all in the bedroom.
Seven masked artists put up temporary wallpaper and built a five-foot-by-eight cage to make the place look like a grungy prison.
Inside the cage, a handcuffed Trump impersonator sat surrounded by rats and McDonald’s food wrappers.
So there are just live rats in the hotel.
Wonderful.
INDECLINE also lined up the walls with portraits of ‘American revolutionaries’ such as whistle-blower Edward Snowden, Muhammad Ali on American flags.
The portraits were painted by more than a dozen pre-selected American artists.
A video published by INDECLINE showed the activists setting up the project as speeches from iconic American figures such as writer Hunter S. Thompson play in the background.
‘America could’ve been a fantastic monument to all the best instincts of the human race,’ the writer is heard saying.
Howwwww aaaartsy.
‘Instead we just moved in here and destroyed the place from coast to coast like killer snails. Everybody wants power over a country that’s had it’s day.’
Footage of how the installation was made also shows the activists seemingly luring the city’s rats with McDonald’s food, Trump’s favorite.
The installation was completed without any problems or arrests, the group said, and they left the room just as they found it.
INDECLINE told DailyMail.com: ‘There were no issues and the hotel staff was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the process, despite having no idea what they were assisting with.’
A small exhibition for a group of journalists was held for about three hours after the installation was finished.
The group added: ‘Our projects are meant to provoke and inspire, but also serve as inspiration for future actions.
‘In turbulent times such as these, activists and artists wield a significant amount of power and it’s the responsibility of these communities to fight for the common man as well as the country we love and cherish.’
The unique installation will be replicated at Gallery 30 in Pasadena California next month.
The group was also behind the infamous naked Trump statues that popped up around the country last year.
Deranged.
They tore it all down at the end and restored the hotel room to its original state…
Which means they paid to stay there… they spent money at Trump hotel.
So in the end… who really wins here?
