Social media has been fawning over Beyonce and Jay-Z’s 6-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, because she bid thousands of dollars on a piece of art at her grandmother’s gala.
During the gala’s live auction, led by Star Jones, Blue raised her paddle and bid $17,000 on an acrylic painting of a young Sidney Poitier. When the price went up, she made another bid at $19,000, but Jay-Z jokingly tried to snatch the paddle away from his daughter’s hand to prevent higher bids. Tyler Perry ended up taking home the portrait for $20,000. Although she lost, Blue wasted no time and bid on the next item, a 36” x 36” piece of art composed of deconstructed law books from Indiana and medical books from California, created by artist Samuel Levi Jones. Blue made the winning bid for $10,000. Beyoncé joined in on the action and made a winning bid at $17,000 on a set of Lorraine Schwartz panther earrings that she had previously worn to an event.

She is GOD.. you're welcome…

She bid on behalf of her parents, lol why don't you appreciate the artwork instead. Who cares if someone's parents spent money. Lets enjoy the passion and feeling that went into something that enriches us all? @SydneyPoitier

What can you say when your parents are Beyoncé and Jay-Z? Nothing. More power to you young lady. Love your life and don’t let anyone tell@you different.

So woke.

I saw the video where she bid on art with her hand. It was so cute. Jay was trying to stop her but this kid knows what she likes already. Whatever calls out to a child you can believe they respond to. And she responded to the tune of $10,000. I say let her follow her passion.

There were a few sane people.
And we see this as a good thing for a 6 year old ?

This kid is gonna turn out to be brat, spoilt & entitled, you can totally tell.

I’m enormously amused by this. Here’s the thing. This gets sticky, because I’m certainly not here to tell wealthy people what to do with their riches. If they want to raise their daughter that way, whatever. Would I? Nope. But this isn’t about that. This is about the people praising the entire situation. This is about the people characterizing it as “cute.”
The “fair share” libs who think this is the greatest thing since sliced bread are the same people who would have an aneurysm and lecture us all about how *insert-your-type-of-privilege-here* privilege exists. Can you imagine if, say, one of President Trump’s grandkids pulled this stunt? Suddenly, it wouldn’t be so “cute” anymore. They’d be all, “Wow! People are STARVING you know! I eat Ramen every single night! White privilege exists! You don’t care about the poor! You probably use hundred dollar bills as tissues! That kid is going to grow up and be a greedy MONSTER!” And Bey and Jay-Z are the SAME HOLLYWOOD ELITISTS who are more than happy to champion intrusive liberal policies that directly affect your wallet. But they don’t care. They have a party to catch with the Obamas.
You know it’s true.
And that, my friends, is why I’m ridiculously amused by this entire thing.
Thoughts? I know you have some.
