I cannot believe lawmakers waste so much time and energy on stupid stuff like this.
A Massachusetts lawmaker– State Rep. Michelle DuBois– wants a Civil War-related signed removed, because it’s totally offensive to women. Correction– it’s offensive to women who are constantly on the lookout for something to be offended over.
The fuss is over this sign…
… which can be spotted at the statehouse. It’s near a statue honoring Civil War General Joseph Hooker, who was a Union general, by the way. So it’s not like this is even a Confederacy thing.
DuBois (she’s a Democrat, but you probably already figured that out) believes the sign needs to be taken down or modified, because women who walk through that doorway are DEFINITELY NOT HOOKERS.
You think I’m making this up? I freaking wish.
R U a “General Hooker”? Of course not! Yet the main entrance of the Mass State House says otherwise.#Metoo it’s not all about rape & harassment but also women’s dignity A “funny” double entendres misrepresented as respect for a long dead general?
1 Keep statue

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrr 3. Get a life and stop freaking out over a historical sign with someone’s NAME on it. She’s actually claiming a #MeToo moment over a SIGN– a sign that has NOTHING TO DO WITH WOMEN SELLING SEX FOR CASH. OMG. We’re talking about a general’s LAST NAME.
Hi Rep DuBois. I would consider taking this down and doing some homework. If you don’t do that I would consider resigning. This is an embarrassment and you should be ashamed for your constituents.

No way. Ive seen teenboys tease teengirls about being “general hookers” waiting in line at the entrance. Sign is out of context & either Gen’s his first name should be added or change the entrance name. This change is not a priority for me but I do think it should and will happen
— Michelle DuBois (@RepDuBois) March 14, 2018
So they should change the sign because hormonal teenage boys have immature interpretations? Is Michelle suggesting that women are so weak-minded that they can’t bear to walk through a doorway with a dude’s name on it because teenage boys might giggle? Seriously?
If nothing else it’s shameful to invoke the me too movement over a sign that’s been in existence for decades. Because a man had a name.
— Angry Brig (@AngryBrig) March 15, 2018
Exactly. This is the man’s NAME. I cannot stress that enough. Michelle’s #MeTooing over a sign.
Nothing shameful about it.
— Michelle DuBois (@RepDuBois) March 15, 2018
You hear that? No shame. And that’s why feminists continue to be a laughingstock.
This might be my favorite reply of all.
Are you insinuating that men can’t be hookers too?
— Des (@despreston) March 15, 2018
So offensive, right? We need #HookerEquality! Get on that, Michelle.
