Sorry Liberals. These School Walkouts Are Nothing More Than A Pointless, Feel-Good Solution

We’ve seen a bunch of trends over the past few months. #BoycottTheNRA and now #NationalWalkoutDay. At first I just rolled my eyes. Whatever. This is typical. This is what liberals do. They react emotionally and try to “solve” problems emotionally.

Decisions rooted in sheer emotion are seldom very good ones.

I’m not questioning the emotion. We’re all feeling all sorts of emotions. We’re all heartbroken. But we’ve reached a point in America where a conservative can’t disagree with a liberal without immediately expecting to be called a child-hating bigot. That’s exactly what has happened.

To all the students walking out today:

We support you.

We have your back.

That’s the entire problem. These people don’t want to talk about common sense solutions. Why? Because in order to do that, they need to recognize that the NRA isn’t the problem, and they’re not willing to do that. They have to misidentify the enemy. That’s crucial to their political agenda. They only have one end game. They want you to concede. They want you to say “Fine. I don’t have the right to keep and bear arms. The Second Amendment is outdated. Please take my guns. I realize that’s the only way we’ll have world peace and end gun violence forever.”

That’s what they want out of us. Thats why they’re going after the NRA. The NRA supports the Second Amendment, and the Second Amendment supports the American people. As Rush Limbaugh stated, they fear us.

The NRA is so widely misunderstood. The NRA is not the among the biggest donors in American politics. They donate a lot, but they’re not among the biggest. That’s not their power.

That’s not why the left so fears them. The reason the left fears them is that they have an unbreakable bond and connection with their members and their members are deep into the American culture and society all over this country. The NRA has deep connections with the American people. That is the threat posed by the NRA.

Now, the media would love you to believe the threat posed by the NRA is that they totally solely support Republicans and that they want anybody who wants one to have as many guns as they want. And then they want you to believe the NRA is not opposed to anybody getting guns and that the NRA is not opposed to anybody doing whatever they want to do with guns. That the NRA will defend anything that happens with a gun in order to protect the Second Amendment. This is in a nutshell the media message. And it’s disguised as news.

It’s not the NRA’s message. It’s not who they are. It’s not what they are. And it is nowhere close to what the NRA believes, teaches, practices, endorses, recommends. There is literally so much fake news today that it is impossible for an average citizen who is not devoted to analyzing it to pick it out and identify it. It simply is not possible.

It’s overwhelming. It’s an epidemic. You don’t know how many libs I’ve heard saying, “NRA members are OK giving PSYCHOS automatic weapons.”

Sadly, emotionally vulnerable kids eat this up. Now, they’re walking out of class in protest. That’s why it’s so crucial that everyone who knows the truth speaks up.

Quick question. How many of these mass shooters have been NRA members? I’ll wait.

In addition, Democrats have been trying to bully companies into “cutting ties” with the NRA, because they can’t hold their own ground in a civil debate. They have to characterize NRA members as psychos who want children to die, because they have no valid argument. Our solutions and stances are so common sense, and they sound like blubbering idiots in comparison. They know this. That’s why they have to demonize us in every way imaginable.

Libs are hung up on AR-15s. Sorry sorry– I meant MASS KILLING MACHINES. Basically, they hope that by “ending” the NRA’s influence, Congress will be able to pass another “assault weapons” ban, and all will be well in the world.

If the cosmetic features used to define an “assault weapon” in the 1994 law strike you as really stupid ways to define an “assault weapon,” it’s because the 1994 law was a stupid law with stupid definitions written by stupid people. And not only was it a stupid law, it was a stupid law that didn’t even accomplish its stated goal. How do we know? Because today, more than a decade after the law’s expiration, the number of people murdered by rifles is 36 percent lower than it was during the last full year the assault weapons ban was in effect.

The law expired in September of 2004, making 2003 the last full calendar year in which the law was in effect. According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) crime statistics, 390 people were murdered with rifles in 2003, making rifles the weapon of choice in 2.7 percent of murders that year. But in 2014, more than a decade after these vile weapons of war flooded American streets, the number of rifle murders surely skyrocketed, right?

Not so much. Quite the opposite. In 2014, the most recent year for which detailed FBI data are available, rifles were used in 248 murders. And not only are rifles used in far fewer murders over a decade following the expiration of the 1994 gun ban, they’re also used in a smaller percentage of homicides. In 2003, when the gun ban was in full effect, rifles were used in nearly 3 percent of murders. In 2014, they were used in barely 2 percent.

That’s the exact opposite of what gun banners said should happen. After the assault weapons ban, guns were supposed to flood the streets and just start killing people. Crime was supposed to skyrocket. But that’s not what happened. Yes, Americans bought a ton of rifles after the law expired, but rather than going up, the number of homicides in which rifles were used drastically fell. There were way more guns, but way less crime.

Guns aren’t the problem. The law-abiding citizens who make up the NRA aren’t the problem. It’s so irresponsible and cruel to tell emotionally vulnerable kids that the left’s gun-grabbing agenda will protect them. It’s a lie. Kids are falling for a lie.
