Now this.
According to the New York Post:
A New Jersey Transit worker alarmed passengers on a Manhattan-bound train Monday morning by announcing that immigration agents were on board and searching for “illegals,” according to commuters — and has now been suspended.
Riders say the worker broadcast the message on the 6:54 a.m. train from Bay Head.
The conductor on my @NJTRANSIT train just made an announcement that there are ICE agents and homeland security on the train – so I guess we need to be protected from hardworking people on their way to work in the morning? @ACLUNJ @ACLU

“The conductor on my @NJTRANSIT train just made an announcement that there are ICE agents and homeland security on the train – so I guess we need to be protected from hardworking people on their way to work in the morning?” Rory Katherine tweeted.
They just made a second announcement that they are “looking for illegals” How is this allowed???? @NJTRANSIT @ACLUNJ @PhilMurphyNJ @GovMurphy

Both ICE and NJ Transit say no agents were on the train, and the transit agency says it has suspended the worker without pay while it investigates the incident.
As you probably noticed, Rory isn’t concerned that public employees are foiling law enforcement… he’s concerned that law enforcement is… get this… enforcing the law.
Per @brian4NY the conductor made false announcements about ICE agents being on the train. Definitely preferable to agents actually being on the train, but still disgusting to make people fear for their safety or that they’re going to be snatched off their morning train. pic.twitter.com/UmrWBR7Oup

Someone calls him out…
If this is true the @NJTRANSIT conductor had no right making that announcement. Could have compromised a police operation or caused a potential problem of a mass exodus of people.

But NOPE. That’s a non-issue to this guy.
No, the issue here is that we have government agents on the train harassing people for their immigration/citizenship papers without cause – which is unconstitutional and unamerican.

But was that even happening, Rory?
Again… everyone’s just freaking out that ICE would DAAAAARE detain illegal immigrants:
Wow if true this is sad. #TrumpsAmerica

This is disgusting.

Can you get photos/video? Everyone needs to amplify this totalitarianism. #resist

To clarify… the conductor wasn’t suspended for foiling a law-enforcement operation. He was suspended for possibly spooking illegal immigrant passengers.
NJ Transit conductor suspended after falsely warning riders of ICE agents on train. NJ Transit says ‘NJT will not tolerate such reprehensible conduct which stands in direct contrast with our agency’s culture.’
