Study Suggests California Has ‘The Worst Quality Of Life’ In The US

I hear California is crazy beautiful, crazy liberal and crazy expensive. If you want to raise a family or live in something bigger than a tiny, overpriced studio apartment, Cali’s probably not for you.

It’s the taxation that would really get to me. It’s only a matter of time before Cali Dems start taxing breathing. (Do they already do that? Did I just give them a really bad idea? Sorry!) I also wouldn’t be able to live in a place that considers itself a giant haven for lawbreakers. Seriously– liberals in California pride themselves on being part of a “Sanctuary State.” It makes me sick.

It’s such a shame, because California looks like a beautiful place. But liberal policies are ruining the state. They’re pumping suckage in at warp speed. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this.

That study by US News suggests that California has the “worst quality of life” in the United States.

Some states shine in health care. Some soar in education. Some excel in both – or in much more. The Best States ranking of U.S. states draws on thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens. In addition to health care and education, the metrics take into account a state’s economy, the opportunity and quality of life it offers people, its roads, bridges, internet and other infrastructure, its public safety and the fiscal stability of state government.

More weight was accorded to some state measures than others, based on a survey of what matters most to people. Health care and education were weighted most heavily. Then came state economies, the opportunity states offer their citizens and infrastructure. Crime & corrections followed closely in weighting, followed by measures of government fiscal stability and people’s quality of life. This explains why Iowa, ranking No. 1 in infrastructure and No. 3 in health care, occupies the overall No. 1 spot in the Best States rankings. And it explains why Minnesota, ranking No. 2 in quality of life and No. 3 in opportunity for its citizens, ranks No. 2 overall in the Best States rankings.

Researchers took health care, crime, the economy, education, quality of life, fiscal stability, opportunity and infrastructure into account to compile the overall score.

The top five states overall? Iowa, Minnesota, Utah, North Dakota and New Hampshire (WOO-HOO way to go NH!)

Keep in mind, those are the average results. The study ranked each state in the various categories individually, and it’s true. They ranked California dead last in “quality of life.”

In case you’re wondering what “quality of life” entails:

In addition to a healthy environment, a person’s quality of life is largely a result of their interactions with those around them. Studies show that when people feel socially supported, they experience greater happiness, as well as physical and mental health.

In other words, California is kinda dirty, and the people aren’t exactly supportive or nice. I know that’s a big generalization, but you get it.

Look at that chart one more time. As you can see, California also really sucks in the “opportunity” department, which is hilarious because liberal policies did that. They pretend to be all for “opportunity” but implement policies that suck it dry.
