Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor Threatens Delta Over Its Decision To Cut Ties With The NRA

Things are getting heated!

As you’ve heard– especially if you watched our live segment on “Fox & Friends” Sunday– a bunch of companies are boycotting the NRA, because they’re weenies who are caving to angry bullies.

Here’s the liberal logic behind the boycotts.

The NRA is the root of all evil, so if we get companies to cut ties with the organization, it’ll lose its political influence and therefore make room for mass gun “reform” (banning cosmetic features on “scary” looking guns and whatnot). Then, there will be no violence and everyone will snuggle and be happy.

^^^Libs, basically. Except meaner. (You know I love those “Mean Girls” references.)

ANYWHO. All of that brings me to this. Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle is threatening Delta for cutting ties with the NRA.

Delta is reaching out to the NRA to let them know we will be ending their contract for discounted rates through our group travel program. We will be requesting that the NRA remove our information from their website.

I will kill any tax legislation that benefits @Delta unless the company changes its position and fully reinstates its relationship with @NRA. Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back.

Ohhhhhh boy.

The Georgia legislature is considering a broader tax bill that includes a provision to exempt Delta’s purchases of jet fuel from the state’s sales tax, a move that could save the airline about $40 million. The exemption was first offered in 2005, when the airline was struggling, and repealed in 2015.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Cagle’s opposition effectively prevents the tax break from becoming law, as several other Georgia GOP lawmakers have also suggested they will not support it until Delta reverses its decision. The state’s Senate blocked the provision on Monday.

Delta attempted to clarify over the weekend that the decision was nonpartisan, painting it as a way to stay out of the debate over guns in the US.

And precisely ZERO people buy that.

“Delta’s decision reflects the airline’s neutral status in the current national debate over gun control amid recent school shootings,” Delta said in a statement. “Out of respect for our customers and employees on both sides, Delta has taken this action to refrain from entering this debate and focus on its business. Delta continues to support the 2nd Amendment.”

By making this move, Delta made a stand. It chose a side. Does it seriously not realize that?

I don’t agree with Delta’s decision, but I don’t approve of Cagle’s threat. That’s not his place. We can’t act like the left.
