February 22, 2018The Second Amendment is probably the main topic at CPAC this year, and I’m glad. It’s crucial that conservatives continue to combat MSM’s false narrative.
Sen. Cruz basically said that we can’t just scream “The Second Amendment above ALLLLLLLLL!” and call it a day. We have to offer sensible, common sense solutions. No– banning guns is not realistic or constitutional. Even if it were, it wouldn’t be effective. Criminals are not going to hand over their guns and confess that they were planning to commit evil deeds.
Common sense solutions. THAT’S what we need. Placing metal detectors in schools. Spending money on armed guards in schools. Giving trained teachers the choice to carry. Making sure we’re spending an adequate amount of time addressing our country’s mental health and cultural rot problems.
Cruz did that. He offered common sense solutions, and Democrats fought him.

This is common sense stuff.
“You want to see crime take off? Disarm law-abiding citizens,” Cruz said.
Bingo.
Democrats need to stop rejecting common sense.
