February 6, 2018I don’t get my nails done often. I usually just do them myself. (Sally Hanson gel polish for the win!) However, if I’m feelin’ ~fancy~ or want a cute little design on a nail or two, I’ll treat myself to a manicure.
I’ve tried doing my own nail art. I make Pinterest fails look good.
I think that’s the case for most women. If they want a nice design, they go to the nail salon. Unfortunately, there’s a new trend. I found out that one of those super, exclusive trendy designs involves– you guessed it– ladyparts. We’re talking “realistic vagina” manicures. Seventeen magazine is really excited about it.

This is the garbage they’re feeding the next generation.
This is “art.” This is #goals.
Sorry, but I don’t see how having a painted vag on my nail empowers me in any way. It’s gross and classless.
Why do we tolerate and celebrate this kind of tacky trash from feminists? Imagine if it were the other way around. What if dudes decided they wanted to “feel empowered” and started walking around donning penis shirts and penis chain necklaces and using the hashtag #PenisPride? We would look at those guys and go, “What gross morons.” But when feminists do it, it’s inspirational and empowering and we need to respect them.

I used to love this mag & my mom always trusted it & ordered it. Key word being mom. It was a fun & cool mag in the 80s. This is garbage. This is not ok for teens under 18. Just no. Not for mine.
