Debbie Wasserman Schultz Tries To Spin The #SchumerShutdown, Fails Miserably

I’m having a heck of a time watching Democrats attempt to explain away the #SchumerShutdown. Come on. They know they came away as the total losers in this battle. Schumer didn’t negotiate anything. He shut the government down for no reason whatsoever. A debate on illegal immigration was always going to happen.

Democrats are mad that Schumer caved. Check out #SchumerSellout on Twitter. It’s quite amusing.

Liberal lawmakers are trying to figure out how to spin this. They all know they lost this battle, and they all know they look like political grandstanding idiots. It’s so funny watching them try to spin it. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s attempt was especially amusing. She knows this was a fail of epic proportions, but she tried to make it seem positive by saying Democrats gained “potential momentum.”

“We have been dealing with this Trump shutdown because of the complete ineptitude of this president and Republican leadership,” Schultz said. “We are still kicking the can down the road because Republicans won’t come to the table.”

I don’t know what planet she’s living on either.

“Congresswoman, I hear you on your frustration with the president, but I’m asking about the leader of your party on the Senate side. Did he cave?” CNN’s Brooke Baldwin asked.

Schultz wouldn’t answer.

“You know, every senator has to make their own decision about whether this exclusively Senate deal is something they’re comfortable with,” Schultz said.

In other words, yes. He caved.

“What one thing can you point out that the Democrats, that Leader Schumer, what one thing did he get from Republicans to justify shutting down the government in the first place?” Baldwin asked.

“The one thing I would say that he did get is the potential for momentum,” Schultz said. “I am certainly hopeful that’s what occurs.”

HAHAHA! Momentum. That’s what she’s going with. We clearly have very different definitions of “momentum.”

“I will tell you that Republicans should be asking themselves that question because they shut the government down,” Schultz said. “This is a Trump shutdown.”

Sad, isn’t it? They have no answers. They’re down to repeating “Trump shutdown!” over and over and over again. I think they think if they keep repeating it, it will make it true.

Someone wanna tell them it doesn’t work that way?
