January 20, 2018Sen. Schumer is desperately trying to convince everyone that the government shutdown is not his fault. Nope. This is on President Trump. Please keep in mind that Trump invited Schumer to the White House yesterday to try to work out a deal. According to reports, Schumer tried to milk it for everything it was worth and brought up domestic issues that went far beyond DACA.
In other words, Schumer didn’t go into the meeting with the intention to strike a deal. He wanted to make it impossible. Did he really believe that was the appropriate time to bring up other domestic issues? Give me a break. Schumer knew the meeting went nowhere right after it happened.

That’s why it’s so amusing to watch Schumer try to say that he really, truly thought they were close to a deal yesterday. He says Trump called it off and added “negotiating with President Trump is like negotiating with Jello.”

Schumer just held a press conference, and one of his remarks proved my earlier theory. Earlier, I said Democrats weren’t going to strike a deal no matter what. Why? Because they wanted to mark the anniversary of Trump’s presidency with a good ol’ government shutdown. They wanted this to happen so he’d look bad. Schumer just confirmed that by saying something along the lines of, “Here we are. One year into the Trump presidency with a Trump shutdown.”
Those weren’t his EXACT words, but it’s pretty close.
