Oh, U2. How I used to love you so.
I remember when you created magical stuff like this in my youth:
And changed my whole teenage landscape with this:
And this is seriously one of my favorite U2 songs of all time, y’all. It takes me back to my senior year in high school…ah, the 80s…Reagan, big hair, and total awesomeness:

But now? Now U2 is creating this political garbage. They made a video with “members of Broken Fingaz Crew, an Israeli graffiti group.
“The video addresses the current political situation: 2017 for us was the year fascists worldwide felt confident enough to raise their heads again, encouraged by Trump and other world leaders, who use people’s fear to build more walls and segregation,” the group says of the three-minute visual.
“Encouraged by Trump.”
The KKK marches outside the White House in the video, because of COURSE it does that. Of COURSE Bono has bought into the CNN-MSNBC-ABC-American news media liberal bullcrap narrative. Of course Bono thinks he knows how half the country felt in the last election, as if he understands what it’s like to be an everyday, working class American. As if he knows the first thing about what it’s like to pay Actual Bills and experience Actual Problems living in America. As if he knows what it’s like to be fed a bunch of lies by the media that gives us 90% bad news about this administration. The only thing Bono understands is what it’s like to be crazy-successful and wealthy BECAUSE of Americans like me, because America is the most exceptional country on the planet that allows him and so many others the opportunities to BE so successful.
But of course he’s buying into the liberal narrative. He’s a celebrity, after all.
You know, I’m sorry that I bought a ticket to U2’s Indy show last September. Because I honestly thought Bono was just a smidge smarter than this and could think just a tad more independently than the average celebridiot. Wishful thinking, I suppose.
And worst of all? U2’s music now. Sigh. I sure do miss the days when the music kicked ass. Back when the band wasn’t so soft and blatantly malleable and they produced quality stuff.
Disappointing.
