Well, well, well. This is interesting.
Word has it President Trump invited Cryin’ Chuck to the White House to discuss the looming government shutdown. If you recall, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said there’s about a 50-60 percent chance that the government will shut down.
“I’m handicapping it now at some place between 50 and 60 percent,” he said. “But again we’re planning for it as if it’s 100 percent. That’s what we do, we run the government, and we will run the government if a bill passes, we will run the government if a bill doesn’t pass.”
President Trump wants to strike a deal. He’s staying in Washington to do so. (He was supposed to fly out to Mar-a-Lago today.)
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is expected to head to the White House to meet with President Trump as the government barrels toward a shut down.
A source familiar confirmed the meeting, which was first reported by The New York Times, saying Trump “reached out” and invited the Senate Democratic leader.
The source added that the meeting “should be happening shortly.”
Interesting.

“Senator, are you worried there are no members of your party in the room with Trump and Senator Schumer right now?” asks stone cold @igorbobic
“Yes,” replies Sen. Blunt

So Schumer's been invited to the WH to speak to the President? DACA won't be done today, Chuck. Back down and take your medicine. Fund the gov't, Military & CHIP or reap the whirlwind#SchumerShutdown #ObamaGate #RealTalk #WaynesTake #ReleaseTheMemo

There is very serious concern rippling through the House Republican Conference that they are about to get hosed by the president and Chuck Schumer.

Part of me is afraid Trump and Republicans will cave. I desperately hope they don’t. I mean, it doesn’t sound like Trump’s planning on bending.
Government Funding Bill past last night in the House of Representatives. Now Democrats are needed if it is to pass in the Senate – but they want illegal immigration and weak borders. Shutdown coming? We need more Republican victories in 2018!

The bottom line? Democrats want protections for Dreamers in this measure. That’s totally not necessary. The deadline isn’t until March. Chill, and figure this out first.
We’ll see what happens…
