Hey Dick Durbin! Past Presidents Had Potty Mouths

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin is absolutely horrified by President Trump’s use of the word “sh*hole.” (I’ve never said our typed that word so much in my life.)

“In the course of his comments, (Trump) said things which were hate-filled, vile and racist,” Durbin said. “I use those words advisedly. I understand how powerful they are.”

“I cannot believe that in the history of the White House and of that Oval Office, any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard our president speak yesterday. You’ve seen the comments in the press. I have not read one of them that’s inaccurate,” he added.

He also added, “I think back at presidents throughout history and I cannot imagine a moment where a president sunk to that depth, that’s what breaks my heart.”

Well, well, well. Historians say otherwise.

But according to historians, we’ve had our fair share of presidential potty mouths.

“I have interviewed six presidents of the United States. I have traveled with them. I have been in their homes. They’ve been in my home on multiple occasions. I have flown on Air Force One with them and commercial jets and private jets and car caravans and Winnebagos. Went to Disney World with one. They all have used the ‘S-word.’ Even that old gentleman, Ronald Reagan, would sometimes occasionally, rarely use the ‘F-word.’ So, the White house is going to endure,” conservative author Doug Wead said.

The Hill goes on to list a bunch of instances of past presidents using colorful language.

Ronald Reagan called his enemies SOBs. Obama called Romney a “bullsh*tter.” Johnson used the n-word. GWB called a reporter a “major league asshole.”

One of the more profane presidents in recent history was Richard Nixon. Nixon was caught on White House tapes using numerous vulgarities, including some offensive terms about gay people.

Likewise, President Johnson was accused of often using the “N-word” when talking about African-Americans.

Some of these remarks were caught on video.

Interesting, that.

Even the silver-tongued President Clinton had his moments. In 2008, Clinton forgot to hang up a phone call with reporter Susan Phillips before saying he wouldn’t take any “shit” from Obama, then a candidate.

I’d also like to point out that Hillary Clinton– the woman liberals WISH was POTUS right now– is the queen of expletives. Also, she throws things. That too.
