If this doesn’t demonstrate how completely absurd some of the claims in Michael Wolff’s tell-all book are, I don’t know what will.
MSM is salivating over Wolff’s book, “Fire and Fury.” There are a ton of absurd claims in it– Melania supposedly cried when Trump won the election, Ivanka has a pact with her husband to run for POTUS and Trump apparently eats cheeseburgers in bed and throws his clothes on the floor.
I know. Oh. And Trump has no idea who John Boehner is, despite MOCKING HIM before even winning the election.
There’s so much absurdity that people are making up quotes from the book and circulating them, and people are FALLING for them. Take this whopper about Trump and his addiction to the “gorilla channel.” It’s actually hilarious.
Wow, this extract from Wolff’s book is a shocking insight into Trump’s mind: pic.twitter.com/1ZecclggSa

Here’s a screenshot in case the tweet doesn’t show up:
The problem is, people started repeating this as fact when it’s actually THE FAKEST THING ON PLANET EARTH.
I did not realize it was a joke until I read the comments!! We're so far down the rabbit hole, this seemed completely believable. What's happening to us????

Same!
— Kyle (@DrKyle) January 5, 2018
I believed it until the 17 hours straight part. Oy.
— Patricia Cuxirimay (@patriciaturner) January 5, 2018
Looks like someone is cranky because the White House staff forgot to turn on the Gorilla Channel https://t.co/Xy3W5H86Fa

lol Eric Garland thinks the Gorilla Channel thing is real pic.twitter.com/ZwAErpNqnY

Dammit guys, I got totally punked on the Gorilla Channel thing – but when you've already gotten to "eating KFC in bed," I mean, we're through the looking glass.
Thanks to all who called me out. We keep it clean and Deza-free at Game Theory HQ. 😀
— Eric Garland (@ericgarland) January 5, 2018
Another round of applause for at least these 4 blue checkmarks who thought the Gorilla Channel was real….@ericgarland @funder @samanthamaiden @shadihamid
Great work @pixelatedboat! pic.twitter.com/LALxGiFRmN

It's just gonna be better if I act like I never saw this. There are too many questions I need answered to that I'll never get.
— David Crockett (@dcrockett17) January 5, 2018
Took me way too long to realize this was a joke.
— 46464646 (@hufflinger) January 5, 2018
Legit didn’t realize this was a joke until “17 hours straight”
— Jessica Langer, PhD (@DrJessicaLanger) January 5, 2018
Seriously though! Until it said 17 hours was when I caught on. Because I know that man can’t kneel for 17 hours.
— Jace Greys (@JamikaJams) January 5, 2018
COME ON GUYS. Are we really this far gone?
Scott Dworkin actually believes that the hilarious "The Gorilla Channel" excerpt from Wolff's latest piece of fiction is real.
This is how desperate liberals have become.
He deleted this tweet, but the internet is forever. pic.twitter.com/6PyY46UmKv

I can't believe people are actually falling for the gorilla channel thing pic.twitter.com/XuBeSXMmBC
— Will Sommer (@willsommer) January 5, 2018
I'm laughing so hard because it's so plausible https://t.co/WZIyhhf5EE
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) January 5, 2018
tfw you parody a guy making up shit about Trump but people believe it so you become part of the problem
— the gorilla channel thing is a joke (@pixelatedboat) January 5, 2018
Wonder if this new display name will help. Probably not.
— the gorilla channel thing is a joke (@pixelatedboat) January 5, 2018
People believing this aside, it’s pretty darn hilarious.
Crying laughing. https://t.co/RvUtUZgMtn
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) January 5, 2018
This manages to be funny about Trump *and* funny about Wolff at the same time. https://t.co/EB9bEodouj
— Peter Suderman (@petersuderman) January 5, 2018
Hysterical. Is CNN or MSNBC crazy enough to think this isn’t a parody? (Please let that happen. Please.) https://t.co/7BelEDDCdJ
— David Reaboi (@davereaboi) January 5, 2018
retweeting purely for morning laughs: amazing parody of a @MichaelWolffNYC Trumpian anecdote https://t.co/JMDUA4ibvh
— Charles Gasparino (@CGasparino) January 5, 2018
The Gorilla Channel exposed many people for their willingness to believe literally any anti-Trump anecdote put out there and the subsequent defensiveness is even more hilarious.
— Bridget Phetasy (@BridgetPhetasy) January 5, 2018
My favorite excuse for being such an idiot that you believe a "gorilla channel" tweet from a known comedy account is "Trump is so nuts that it COULD have been real!"
Yeah, no. You were just an idiot. That's the only reason this happened.
— neontaster 🚟 (@neontaster) January 5, 2018
If we don’t laugh, we’ll cry.
