My 2018 is off to a great start (and I hope your is, too!) but the same can’t be said for Lorde, who woke up yesterday to a full-page ad calling her out for bigotry against Israel…

Yikes! Lorde is used to attention by now, but it’s not every day you see something like THAT.
As we mentioned, Lorde cancelled her concert in Tel Aviv when fans wrote letters explaining how eeeevil the Israelis were for oppressing the poor innocent Palestinians who never do anything wrong and just want to live in peace and harmony!
A full-page advertisement has been taken out in the Washington Post calling Kiwi musician Lorde a bigot and accusing New Zealand of prejudice against Israel.
The ad, on the fifth page of the paper’s December 31 edition, taken out by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s This World: The Values Network – criticises the 21-year-old for joining ‘a global anti-semitic boycott of Israel’.
The ad features a large photo of the singer superimposed over a picture of men running through rubble cradling babies with the headline ‘Lorde and New Zealand ignore Syria to attack Israel.’
The Grammy winner cancelled a Tel Aviv concert, originally scheduled for June, following criticism from activists in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement.
The decision also came after two of her New Zealand-based fans wrote an open letter that argued holding a concert in the country would show support for Israel’s occupation of Palestine.
The Washington Post ad states that Lorde’s decision showed how a ‘growing prejudice against the Jewish State’ in New Zealand was ‘trickling down to its youth.’
Of course. It’s cool to hate Israel right now. Go to most college campuses and ask the kids “what side they’re on.” You’ll be shocked. It’s pretty sad what they’re willing to say out loud.
The ad leaves little out…
It cites New Zealand’s choice in December to vote – along with 127 countries – in favour of a United Nations resolution that called for the United States to withdraw its decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
It also criticizes New Zealand’s co-sponsorship of a UN resolution which condemned continued Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory and caused a six-month diplomatic rift with Israel.
‘While Lorde claims to be concerned with human rights, she hypocritically chose to proceed with her two concerts in Putin’s Russia, despite his support for [Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad’s genocidal regime,’ the ad reads.
Well…that’s because the Russian thing only matters if it’s a direct ding at Trump. Duh. ISRAEL is enemy #1 right now. If terrorists ALL hate a place, it must be pretty hateable!
PRO TIP: If you agree with every single Islamic terrorist on planet earth on something, you might want to evaluate why that’s the case.
Israel’s ambassador to New Zealand, Itzhak Gerberg, last week invited Lorde to meet him in person.
No word on whether she has the balls to actually speak to him.
