According to this, China is worried about how our new tax law will impact their economy. So is Canada.
And they should be. The US is going to get a whole lot more competitive, and the boosts to our economy will be undeniable.
I have a friend who often offers brilliant commentary about current events on Facebook, but never allows himself to be credited in any way for his nuggets of wisdom. So, as usual, I’m sharing his words with you without attribution, because HE WON’T LET ME ATTRIBUTE. But what he wrote about the NYT article (sourcelinked above) needs to be shared with every naysaying liberal whose panties are in a perpetual twist over tax reform.
He wrote:
Still more evidence the newly passed Republican tax reform has abruptly rendered America economically competitive in ways it hasn’t been in years. The Chinese are concerned:
“China said on Thursday that it would temporarily exempt foreign companies from paying tax on their earnings, a bid to keep American businesses from taking their profits out of China following Washington’s overhaul of the United States tax code.”
So are the Europeans, who are actually threatening to litigate, so to speak, to overturn the American reforms:
“[M]inisters, officials and analysts in much of the rest of the world have said it could create an uneven playing field and set off a race among countries to cut corporate taxes. Because the United States already offers a large and wealthy domestic market, relatively light workplace regulation and large amounts of venture capital, lower tax rates had been one lever that other countries had used in an effort to lure companies.
“Asian and European officials have speculated that some of the measures in the revamped tax code could help encourage United States companies produce goods domestically for exporting. European leaders, for their part, have raised the specter of a trade battle and implied they may challenge the overhaul before the World Trade Organization.”
Let’s be clear: the “uneven playing field” here is an environment in which the United States competes and wins.
The dismay of our competitors is the surest evidence of the promise of the reforms.
Yes. I welcome the “dismay” of the rest of the world right now. Because as our president often says, “America first.”
And nope – I’m not sick of winning yet. 🙂

When the weekend arrives I try to create a special atmosphere at home with some music, a favorite drink and a little bit of online gaming. After several disappointments with different casinos I finally came across https://1000bet-official.com/
which turned out to be a real discovery. The platform combines a clean design with reliable support and fast transactions, something I always wanted but rarely found in the Iranian market. What really impressed me is the balance between entertainment and safety, because many sites only care about flashy graphics while ignoring the user experience. Here everything feels well structured and transparent, from account verification to withdrawals. This level of professionalism makes me trust the site and return every weekend for some enjoyable sessions of Aviator and slots.
