Shakeup At Fox! Chief Correspondent Is OUT.

Reports are coming in that Fox News’ Chief Washington Correspondent, James Rosen, is OUT.

According to TV Newser:

James Rosen, a stalwart of Fox News Channel’s Washington D.C. bureau, is leaving the network, TVNewser has learned.

“James Rosen is exiting the company at the end of the year,” a Fox News spokesperson confirms, without providing further detail.

Rosen, 49, has been with Fox News since 1999, 3 years after the channel launched.

As the network’s Chief Washington Correspondent, he often reported for Special Report, but was seen throughout FNC’s programming day, most recently just yesterday.

In 2013, it was revealed the Obama Justice Department had been investigating Rosen in a leak probe. Fox executives at the time called the investigation “downright chilling.”

No word yet as to what prompted his departure.

Rosen made international headlines after reports surfaced that the Obama administration spied on reporter. In 2009, the Justice Department obtained Rosen’s telephone records in a bid to track down leakers. “The case of Stephen Jin-Woo Kim, the government adviser, and James Rosen, the chief Washington correspondent for Fox News, bears striking similarities to a sweeping leaks investigation disclosed last week in which federal investigators obtained records over two months of more than 20 telephone lines assigned to the Associated Press,” reported The Washington Post.

Not only did the Obama administration snoop on Rosen, but also fought to keep the search warrant for reporter’s private e-mail account secret on the grounds that they might need to monitor the account for a long period of time.
