Amazon’s Alexa Is Getting Political

I’m probably the only person on the planet who doesn’t have Alexa or something like it. It gives me the creeps. I don’t like the feeling of being watched or listened to. I know, I know. I have a laptop, iPhone and smart TV. I have social media accounts. My name is plastered on the internet. It’s too late anyway. I’ll might get one eventually. I just don’t see the need for one at this point. Once upon a time, I tried to use Siri, and I hated it. I hear Alexa is waaaaaaaaaay better, but eh. I’m not ready yet. That brings me to this.

According to that sourcelink, some people are accusing Amazon’s Alexa of having a political bias. She’s a liberal, you guys. I guess some people (on the alt-right specifically) got a little curious and decided to ask Alexa how she feels about social justice warrior topics like feminism and Black Lives Matter, and her responses were textbook lib.

When asked if Black Lives Matter, Alexa was all, “Black Lives and the Black Lives Matter movement absolutely matter.” She added, “It’s important to have conversations about equality and social justice.”

Oh. And she’s totes a feminist.

“Yes I am a feminist, as is anyone who believes in bridging the inequality between men and women in society.”

Perpetuating the mythical gap and giving legitimacy to the cop-hating Black Lives Matter movement. Freaking lovely. Keep in mind that assistants like Siri simply pull up Google search results. It doesn’t give an opinion. It pulls up Google or simply says, “I don’t have an answer for that.”

Wait, there’s more. If you ask Alexa how many genders there are, you’re going to get the textbook SJW answer.

Clearly, a SJW is behind the programming here. I can’t say that I’m surprised.
