Piers Morgan Is Triggered By A Florida Church’s Warning To Armed Criminals

After the devastating church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, churches all around the country took a step back to reflect.

As much as I hate to say it, I’ve had those thoughts before. What if someone walked into the movie theater and opened fire? A restaurant? The grocery store? Church?

One church in Tampa Bay doesn’t want churchgoers to worry about that. The River at Tampa Bay Church posted this message, which I should note has been up for the past year. They didn’t specifically put it up in response to the Texas church massacre.

It reads, “Welcome to The River at Tampa Bay Church — right of admission reserved — this is private property. Please know this is not a gun free zone — we are heavily armed — any attempt will be dealt with deadly force — yes we are a church and will protect our people.”

Love it.

“If you think you are going to come here and do that, this is a deterrent for you because it is everywhere, it’s not like we hide these signs,” Associate Pastor Allen Hawes said. “They’re big signs, and it’s going to tell these people, we will protect our people.”

I have NO problem with that whatsoever. In fact, I used to take comfort in knowing I had the same situation going on at my church. We never had a sign or official announcement, but I always knew my dad and “uncles” (I just call all of my dad’s friends who’ve been friends with him and our family forever my uncles) were always packing. Uncle Jimmy was near the back entrance. Uncle Dave was standing in the back of the room like usual. My dad was sitting by the door. I knew there were more. I knew I went to a church that packed heat. Alpha males were everywhere. Chicks with guns were there. If someone thought they were walking into our church to cause mayhem, they’d have another thing coming.

I felt so safe. So no. I don’t have a problem with this church’s stance.

Cue Piers Morgan. He’s triggered.

Of course it’s not a sick joke. There’s nothing sick or funny about it. The church is simply saying, “Hey. We believe in the Second Amendment. Armed criminals, you’ve been warned. We’ll kill you before you kill our people.”

How could anyone have a problem with that stance? Seriously?

I’m not against this. Heck, I’ve been the armed person in church, and I assure you I’ll continue to be.
