On Saturday, Sen. Rand Paul’s psycho neighbor allegedly snuck up behind Paul and tackled him to the ground.
The man has been identified as 59-year-old Rene Boucher. He’s a Bowling Green anesthesiologist and pain specialist. I know it shouldn’t matter, but he’s also an anti-Trump Democrat.
It makes sense. I wouldn’t expect a conservative to tackle Paul to the ground, unless it was as a joke or something.
Reports initially said Paul walked away with minor injuries– some scratches to the face and a sore rib. But as it turns out, his injuries are a bit more serious. He has five broke ribs, including three displaced fractures which, according to the AP, “can lead to life-threatening injuries.”
Um…holy crap? The report goes on to say that Paul is in “considerable pain and has difficulty getting around.”
Doug Stafford said it is unclear when Paul will return to work since he is in considerable pain and has difficulty getting around, including flying. Stafford said Sunday that the broken ribs include three displaced fractures, which can lead to life-threatening injuries. The severe pain can last for weeks or months.
Police arrested 59-year-old Rene Boucher on Saturday and charged him with misdemeanor fourth-degree assault with a minor injury. Boucher is accused of attacking Paul on Friday, but officials have not released a motive.
Boucher lives next door to Paul and his wife, according to Warren County property records.
Boucher was released from jail on Saturday. He has not returned a call seeking comment.
NEWS: Sen. @RandPaul recovering from 5 broken ribs, could be away from Washington for foreseeable future, aides say. More soon.

"misdemeanor fourth-degree assault with a minor injury" "minor" means different things, I guess

That is not a minor injury. Somebody hit him brutally hard.
