I’m not a fan of Lana Del Rey. Never have been. Although this song was unfortunately catchy.

Other than that, eh. Not a fan. The chick is weird. She actually tried to put a hex on Donald Trump. Because that’s sane.
“Yeah, I did it. Why not? Look, I do a lot of s—t,” she said.
She’s under the impression that she can change things if she properly harnesses “the vibration of thought.”
“I’m in line with Yoko [Ono] and John [Lennon] and the belief that there’s a power to the vibration of a thought,” she explained. “Your thoughts are very powerful things and they become words, and words become actions, and actions lead to physical changes.”
“I really do believe that words are one of the last forms of magic and I’m a bit of a mystic at heart,” she continued. “And I’ve seen how I feel about changing those people’s lives and I’ve been on the other side of that as well — on the other side of well-wishes and on the other side of mal-intent. And I’ve realized how strong you have to be to be; bigger than all of it, even bigger than your own vibrations.”
Um…alrighty then.
This is also the same chick who pulled the US flag from her tour. She did that because of Trump.
“It’s certainly uncomfortable,” she said at the time. “I definitely changed my visuals on my tour videos. I’m not going to have the American flag waving while I’m singing ‘Born to Die.’ It’s not going to happen.”
“I’d rather have static,” she continued. “It’s a transitional period, and I’m super aware of that. I think it would be inappropriate to be in France with an American flag. It would feel weird to me now — it didn’t feel weird in 2013.”
“I feel less safe than I did when [Barack] Obama was president,” she added. “When you have a leader at the top of the pyramid who is casually being loud and funny about things like that, it’s brought up character defects in people who already have the propensity to be violent towards women. I saw it right away in L.A. Walking down the street, people would just say things to you that I had never heard.”
As you can see, she’s wack. I just feel like it’s important to know that.
ANYWAY. She wrote a song about Harvey Weinstein pursuing a relationship with her. Sorry if you’re a fan of the song “Cola.” It’s about the perv.
Lana Del Rey’s 2012 track “Cola” about older men is about Harvey Weinstein, sources tell us.
“Cola” features the lyrics: “I got a taste for men who are older. It’s always been, so it’s no surprise,” and was originally followed by the line, “Harvey’s in the sky with diamonds and he’s making me crazy. All he wants to do is party with his pretty baby.”
Plus, “I know your wife, and she wouldn’t mind.”
We’re told the song is ironic. (She wasn’t into Weinstein at all.)
Here it is–

When Weinstein heard the lyrics, he completely flipped out.
…one source said, “Harvey went bananas and insisted Del Rey change the lyrics, which she did, removing Harvey’s name, so the line now goes, “Ah he’s in the sky with diamonds and he’s making me crazy.”
Weinstein later got Del Rey to do a song for his 2014 movie “Big Eyes.”
Because of COURSE she did.
That’s what irritates me about all of this. Many of these artists/celebs KNEW Harvey Weinstein was a pervy mess, but they didn’t say a word and continued to work with him anyway. The just ignored it. All the while, they lectured US for not standing up and #resisting oppression.
PLEASE. Take a seat, Hollywood.
