According to this, Amber Rose, who you may know from such things as being naked a lot and being an ex-girlfriend of Kanye West, has written an essay for Marie Claire magazine, in which she slams Trump for calling women names, and also promotes her 3rd annual SlutWalk.
Yes. You read that correctly.
But see, it’s OK for Amber Rose to call women sluts because she’s “reclaiming the word.” Kinda how hip hop performers have reclaimed the n-word. Or something. She said:
“The term ‘slut’ never seemed to go away — in fact, I began to realize that I’d be called a slut whether I behaved according to other people’s standards or not. So, I decided to take the power out of that word and reclaim it. I said f**k it, hoe is life.”
Hoe is life, y’all. Hoe is life.
Amber says she has a huge problem when anyone denies the need for today’s feminism, because she believes in the debunked statistic that 1 in 4 women are or will become victims of sexual assault. And when you believe in lies, chances are you’re going to promote causes which are pointless. Like today’s feminism.
‘I’ve gotten a lot of backlash from people who feel I can’t be taken seriously as an activist and feminist because the world has seen me with my clothes off. I think that’s a bunch of bulls**t. I can absolutely call myself a feminist and post a picture of my naked body.’
Amber explained that as an intersectional feminist she believes that all women should have the freedom to do whatever they want with their bodies without judgement (sic).
Really? Tell it to the feminists who are trying to petition to have a prostitute rating website taken down.
And seriously feminists, just make up your mind about this issue already. Do you want women to have “agency” over their bodies or don’t you?
Amber insists that posting nude photos of herself on IG is empowering, and if you’re a dude who doesn’t think that, then you’re likely one of those guys who, “claim victims of sexual assault are ‘asking for it’ by wearing an outfit considered to be inappropriate.”
For example, I think women who post skanky photos of themselves are skanky, but I don’t think they’re asking to be sexually assaulted. I just think they’ve fooled themselves into believing being naked on camera equates to empowerment. It doesn’t. It equates to being a skank. They should absolutely have the right to be as skanky as they wanna be, just like I should have the right to call them skanky. If the shoe fits, amirite?
Anyway, the 3rd annual SlutWalk is happening in downtown Los Angeles this weekend, and Amber thinks the election of Trump as president necessitates the SlutWalk.
“This country loves to objectify female bodies — hell, our president loves to objectify female bodies! — but when a woman takes that power away and exposes herself, everyone freaks the f**k out.”
Amber believes around 20,000 people will attend the SlutWalk this year, and she’s hoping to see the First Lady join in.
‘[Look at] how he treats his wife!’ she said of the president. ‘I’m a huge fan of Melania [Trump]. I just feel like I can’t wait for her to get away from him and have her at my SlutWalk.
‘She’s so trapped in that situation where she doesn’t want to be there. I wish she’d take control and leave his ass. That is going to be a great day.’
