Funny story. I was just sitting here, typing away and sipping on my coffee when Fox News froze, the TV blacked out and I heard it– the dreaded EMERGENCY ALERT sound. It wasn’t like a local weather alert. I looked up and saw the word “NATIONAL” along with “EMERGENCY ALERT.”
For a solid 5 seconds, I was convinced we were under attack. I thought North Korea was nuking us for sure. I was convinced that the apocalypse had arrived. It was a terrifying 5 seconds. The first thought that came across my mind? Where’s my prepper dad, and how do I get to him before all hell REALLY breaks loose? And for Pete’s sake, WHERE IS MY LIFESTRAW?
My dad should feel honored. I trust him with my life in the post-apocalypse world. That’s serious confidence.
Anyway, that 5 seconds felt like forever, and I finally realized that it was just a stupid test. I then messaged the Chicks to alert them that I was convinced we were all going to die.
I went back and recorded the alert so you can get an idea of how this went down.
Thought we were under attack for about 5 seconds. I was convinced it was the end. Whew. Close one. Thanks for the heart attack DirecTV. pic.twitter.com/RyTmuh51DM

And that’s my story. I’m on edge. I think I need a vacation. 🙂
