Everyone kept telling me that the world was going to end this past Saturday. I didn’t believe them, of course (it’s not like some astrologist is going to decide that – hello), but I did use that information as a tiny excuse to eat pizza on Saturday (which, admittedly I never eat), go to my town’s Fall Festival and top it off with some foodie fare at my local flea market on Sunday. Y’all haven’t experienced life if you’ve missed out on flea market food trucks.
One word: TAMALES.
Anywho. Back to the end of the world. It didn’t happen, obviously. It’s not like some amateur astrologer is going to call that correctly. If you think that’s going to happen, email me. I have some Indiana tidal wave insurance to sell you. Again.
Now, just when I start feeling like I’m super out of shape from eating ALL THE FOOD over the weekend, I see this video of a 19-year old Olympic skiier, Andri Ragettli, just doing a little makeshift obstacle course in a local gymnasium. You know….for fun. He posted this on his Instagram page, and he makes it look so freaking easy.
Why am I posting this, you ask? Well, I’m sick and tired of looking at NFL players today. I’m tired of talking about them. I’m tired of looking at them. I’m tired of everything ABOUT THEM, frankly, so I figured I’d post another kind of athlete (before the skiiers start kneeling, you know).
I figure I’d post one that is crazy-athletic and isn’t doing anything political.
At. ALL.
So, behold:
Absolutely insane, isn’t it?
(Update: Here’s Andri on skis…there’s language here, so you’ve been warned)
Oh, to be 19 again. Sure, I was never this athletic in my wildest dreams, but I was a little bendier once upon a time and a little less bionic.
And holy cow – this is what an Olympian looks like, amirite??
No politics allowed.
