Florida Keys Officials Call For A Mandatory Visitor Evacuation

Hurricane Irma is making its way toward the United States. It’s currently a Category 5 with 185 mph winds. It’s barreling toward Florida and, at some point, is expected to take a sharp turn north. The question is, when will it take that turn and how sharp will that turn be? Right now, the National Hurricane Center’s cone of uncertainty doesn’t exactly reflect the sharp turn. But everyone swears it’s coming.

The predictions vary.

No matter what, it looks like Irma is going to impact Florida. South Florida is already bracing for it. Officials in the Florida Keys have called for a mandatory visitor evacuation, starting Wednesday.
