August 27, 2017A few days ago, we told you about the highly disturbing viral video, which shows an East High cheerleader being forced into a split to the point of excruciating pain.

Not sure if the coaches realize this, but that is NOT how you make someone more flexible. Do they have no comprehension on how the human body works? Everything about this is appalling. Either they’re THAT stupid, or they know EXACTLY what they’re doing. Either way it’s bad, and there should be hell to pay.
The good news? The high school cheerleading coach in question, Ozell Williams, has been fired.
“Having now worked closely with police over the last two days and looked closely at the evidence that has been gathered, we have made the decision today to terminate the employment of the coach of the cheer squad, Mr. Ozell Williams,” DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg said Friday. “He is no longer an employee of the Denver Public Schools. We have also made the decision to employ an outside law firm – Davis, Graham & Stubbs – to perform an independent investigation of exactly who knew what when, both at the school and at the district level, with regard to the practice of forced splits on the cheer team, the safety of the students and the concerns of the parents. We will ensure the investigation is conducted thoroughly and fairly, and we pledge to make the results of the investigation public.”

The real kicker? The coach says the video was taken “out of context.” That’s his defense.
What about forcing a girl into a split and her screaming in pain is “out of context,” exactly? Do tell. I’d love to know what was REALLY going down there.
