Tucker Carlson: WHERE Were The Charlottesville Police?

We’ve all seen the coverage of the Charlottesville riots. Tucker Carlson has an important question:

WHERE were the cops? Police stood by and allowed the violence to escalate. WHY?!

Tucker and his guest Dan Bongino, a former NYPD Officer, address the problem at hand:

One important thing came up: this is NOT the rank and file police officers’ faults. They know how to do their jobs. This is the fault of politicians who are allowing and even encouraging these riots. Police are being told NOT to do their jobs.

Bongino calls this the “give them space to destroy” policy,  a reference to Stephanie Rawlings Blake, the Mayor of Baltimore who said she would give rioters the ability to “destroy” the city.

“I’ve made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech. It’s a very delicate balancing act because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well, and we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate.”

THAT is why this is happening.
