NFL Commissioner Wants Fans To Be “Understanding” Of Unpatriotic Protests

I’m done. I’ve had it. I’m boycotting the NFL.

So….to be completely honest, I’m not a DIE HARD football fan, so boycotting the NFL won’t be TOO hard for me. I might really miss out on some tasty snacks at Sunday-night gatherings, but that’s really the worst part (I do really, REALLY love tasty snacks, though).

Either way, I’ve had more than enough of their nonsense, and now THIS:

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says football fans should be more understanding when players protest the national anthem.

 

During a Q&A session with Cardinals season-ticket holders, Goodell was asked if he believes protests are “going to be another problem” this season.

 

This past weekend, Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch and Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett both sat down while the national anthem was played before their preseason games.

 

“It’s one of those things where we have to understand that there are people who have different viewpoints,” Goodell said via ESPN. “It’s something that I think everybody wants. The national anthem is a special moment for me. It’s a point of pride. That is a really important moment but we also have to understand the other side – that people do have rights, and we want to respect those.”

 

“Protest to progress is what I call it. We all have to recognize that people want to see change. Let’s go out and try to make that happen in a peaceful and an important way,” Goodell said.

Give me a break. If Goodell wants to put the future of the entire NFL on the line to appease a couple of multi-millionaires throwing tantrums about how our society isn’t fair to them, so be it. Count me out.

All I’ve got to say is society can’t be all that horrible and racist if millions of Americans sit around their televisions and stare in awe as these entitled multi-millionaires play a game, right?

One thing I won’t stand for? Watching a bunch of rich brats disrespect my flag, disrespect my country, and disrespect the men and women who have DIED giving their entitled a$$es the “right” to express their viewpoints.

So sure, Roger, I’ll be “understanding” of the fact that you’re allowing your players to throw their little tantrums, and you can be “understanding” of the fact that I will not watch another NFL game until you get your act together.

Individually, I might not be a huge loss, but together, we can send a clear message.
