I don’t think President Trump will EVER be over the fact that Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia probe, but I don’t think his job is in jeopardy anymore.
According to a new report, President Trump’s new Chief of Staff John Kelly called Sessions over the weekend and assured him that his job is no longer in jeopardy. Of course, this report is based on “a senior level source familiar with the situation,” so who really knows.
Hopefully, this means Trump and Sessions have made up. Although the “making up” part really falls more on Trump. He’s the one who has been tweeting about Sessions, calling him “beleaguered.” But have you noticed? We haven’t heard any serious Sessions smack in the last few days. That can only mean one thing: Kelly’s getting that house in order. FINALLY.
This doesn’t mean Trump’s suddenly over Sessions recusing himself from the Russia probe, but maybe– just maybe–Kelly has been able to talk some sense into him. When he feels irritated with Sessions, squeeze a stress ball or something. Might I suggest this one?
Squeeze the Hillary stress ball. Don’t tweet about it.
