Professors Declare That Colleges Must Train Up Social Justice Warriors To Fight Trump

Oh gee, and here I thought that the purpose of higher education was to earn a degree and get career training so you could become a productive member of society. Silly me and my old-fashioned ideas about actually learning valuable skills.

There are still trade schools, though. Hopefully the social justice poison stays out of those institutions.

According to this, Professor James Martin and James E. Samels, CEO of The Education Alliance want everybody to know that with the election of Donald Trump, it’s even MORE important that colleges and universities brainwash train up students into good little social justice warriors against the EEEEEEEEVILS of Donald Trump and those who support him.

And, yes, they actually use the term “social justice warriors” unironically.

Unambiguously titled “Social justice university: educating the next generation of social justice warriors,” the op-ed uses Southern Connecticut State University as a case study for the role that the authors believe higher education should play in promoting social activism among students.

“Driven by doing good and doing well, higher education has a special mission to educate the next generation of Social Justice Warriors,” they assert. “These Warriors will be educated, empowered, and self-motivated to advocate for equal rights, opportunities, and privileges—welcoming everyone to citizenship, colleagueship, and civic compassion” [emphasis in original].

 

Because that’s what EVERY parent of a college-bound student wants to hear: Come to our school! We’ll teach you how to be professional protesters and cause rioting and anarchy in the streets!

When that’s what people see anti-Trump goons doing on a regular basis, what else are you supposed to think? Though clearly, these guys didn’t get the memo that this kind of behavior is EXACTLY why Donald Trump was elected.

You have to love how they picked some random university from Connecticut that no one’s heard of to hold up as the ~*~GOLD STANDARD~*~ of leftist social justice BS. On the other hand, that’s one more college that’s permanently off my list as a place to potentially send my child.

There is one good thing about this paper – at least academics are being honest about what they’re doing to students who come through their classrooms at these (often taxpayer-funded) institutions. It’s one thing for conservatives to claim that’s what’s going on, based on the parade of social justice snowflakes coming out of colleges. But when professors and administrators point-blank say “Yep – we’re teaching kids how to hate their parents and their parents’ politics,” it’s actually refreshing to know what our opponents’ goals are.
